Film-Tech’s ARCHIVAL GRADE (chemically inert) 5-inch 35mm film cores are designed to be 100% compatible with ALL makes and models of split reels, clip-together reels, and flanges. These are the strongest cores ever manufactured and they spin absolutely true to avoid end of reel cinch mark film damage. The larger diameter of the Film-Tech cores eliminates the problem of cold flow curling (aka: core set) and minimizes warpage.

Important note regarding film running time capacity between different core/hub sizes:
*Upgrading from a 3-inch to 4-inch core only decreases the total capacity of the reel by about 70 feet (less than a minute)
*Upgrading from a 4-inch to 5-inch core only decreases the total capacity of the reel by about 100 feet (roughly one minute)
*Upgrading from a 5-inch to 8-inch core only decreases the total capacity of the reel by about 410 feet (roughly 4.5 minutes)
As a rule, always use the largest size core possible, as this puts the least amount of stress on the film and decreases physical deformation of the film over time.
